Teaching Statement

In my teaching career, I've had the privilege of guiding diverse student groups, from large undergraduate cohorts to small liberal arts classes.

My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and stimulating environment where critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and effective communication are at the forefront. I firmly believe in the active application of economic principles to real-world challenges, encouraging students to engage with statistical data and develop robust economic arguments. This practical approach is designed to equip students with essential skills that are pivotal for success in their academic and professional endeavors in economics and beyond.

In my role as an educator, my goal is to guide students towards academic excellence and professional success, preparing them to be thoughtful, informed, and skilled economists who can navigate and contribute to an ever-evolving global landscape.

Teaching with AI

In my commitment to advancing education, I integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) to offer personalized and interactive learning experiences. For students in my quantitative courses, tools such as ChatGPT Plus and GitHub Copilot are indispensable, serving not merely as resources but as crucial gateways to mastering Prompt Engineering. This skill is pivotal for their empirical research projects, where coding efficiency and effectiveness are key. Through the development of course-specific chatbots and the strategic use of AI tools like PlusMind AI for seamless course content management, my approach emphasizes accessibility, inclusivity, and academic integrity. My goal is to inspire educators to harness AI's transformative potential, ensuring quality education that is innovative, engaging, and tailored to individual learning needs.
